What an exciting weekend to be back in Waco, Texas!
My documentary short film, UnBound, was screened at the historic Hippodrome Theater among several other amazing stories. I am full of gratitude for the support from all my friends and family who made the trip to Central Texas to attend the festival. I am also thankful Julia opened up to me and allowed me to share her story on this stage.
It’s an incredible feeling to take the skills I’ve learned and use them to try and bring the issue of human trafficking to light in this small way. It’s surreal to have people actually watch the content you make and hope that each time someone sees it, it plants a seed that gets spread to everyone else through awareness and education. I plan to continue creating and sharing stories, because it’s one way for us to connect to one another.
Thanks to the festival committee for putting on a great weekend full of community and art and events, and allowing me to be a part of it.
